The thermal city of “Nea Apollonia” operates in the serene and peaceful ecosystem of the lake Volvi.
It is run by the municipal company of the municipality of Volvi. These curative baths offer not only treatment, but also well-being, prevention and rehabilitation. Visitors can travel in the region, making a stop in Olympiada and ancient Stageira. The excavations revealed a Macedonian city in the area, which was possibly built in the 5th centrury B.C. This city flourished especially during the time of Alexander the Great and was inhabited until the Byzantine Times.
Curative Water
The temperature of the water is 38-57o C.
Characterisation: Superheated Na- K- SO4- HCO3- F-Br hydrosulphide- hypotonic, slightly radioactive curative water of the municipality of Volvi.
Therapeutic Indications: Chronic rheumatisms and degenerative injuries, gynecological ailments, neuritis, neuralgia, allergic skin ailments, ailments of the urinary tracks of the kidneys, liver, gall bladder. Mineral water drinking therapy for ailments of the gastrointestinal system. Inhalation therapy for infections of the upper respiratory system.
Health thermalism facilities
The company houses a hydrotherapy centre with a covered pool for 30 people and 54 individual tubs. Furthermore, the ground floor of Aristotelis hotel houses a spa section with Jacuzzi, individual tubs, saunas and a Turkish bath. Curative water that springs at a temperature of 57o C is exclusively used and is provided to visitors in their desired temperature in the hydrotherapy centre and in the spa section. The facilities run all year round and on a 24- hour basis. There are also various accommodation facilities and restaurants.
