Changes in the institutional framework of the Municipal Operators of Curative Springs

Dear colleagues,
The problems caused by the current institutional framework in the operation of the municipal operators spas are known to all of us. These issues cause many problems to the municipal enterprises as they hinder the councilmen’ work, who are striving daily to provide high quality services and produce wealth when, in most cases, they are required to recruit their staff and buy their supplies, according to the legal framework of the local government.
In this way, the Municipal Enterprises lack the necessary flexibility and cannot adapt to the modern consumer needs.
In a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Association of Municipalities With Thermal Springs, the president of the Association Mr. Giannis Karagiannis and the members of the Executive Committee decided to commission the higly- regarded lawyer Mrs. Ntoretta Alexiou to :
a) shape the proposal to amend the institutional framework of operation of the municipal operators of curative springs (in order to be able to meet the high quality services required in the Greek Tourism Health and Wellness sector)
b) shape the proposal to amend the institutional framework of operation of the Hellenic Association of Municipalities with Thermal Springs.
We ask for your suggestions-comments on the problems caused by the current legal framework for the municipal operators of curative springs until the 20th January, regardless of the legal form that you operate (e.g. single-membered S.A, Utilities and others).
