Curative Natural Resource Thermopiles

The Thermopiles spring is on 200th kilometre of the National Road Athens- Thessaloniki and 15 km away from the city of Lamia. According to mythology, Hephaestus, after Athina’s request, created the springs in order for Hercules to bathe in them and thus regain his powers after his feats. The area is known for the battle of Thermopiles between the Greeks and the Persians in 480 B.C. In 1935, Thermopiles were organised as a hydrotherapy centre.

The temperature of the spring’s water is 40oC
Characterisation: Superheated Cl- Na- K- HS-Br-CO2 hypotonic, slightly radioactive curative water
Therapeutic Indications: Rheumatisms, gynecological ailments and ailments of the peripheral nerves
Health thermalism facilities
The constant flow of the water of the spring forms waterfalls, were a large number of people come to admire the scenery and bathe in the abundant waters of the spring.
