The Curative Springs of Therma are located in the settlement of Therma at a distance of 5 kilometres from Nigrita and 22 kilometres from Serres. Therma Nigritas were named after the celebrated hot springs, whose curative properties made the region famous from ancient times. The public baths (Thermes) which are saved at the springs, were built during the Roman Times. The region of Visaltia has historic and natural sights. In Nigrita, visitors can admire notable byzantine churches, the Folklore Museum, as well as a great number of customs that are connected with different celebrations of Christianity and with important social events of human life. At a distance of less than 10 kilometres, lies the archaeological site of Terpni, where the excavations in 1965 brought to light abundant archaeological findings.
Curative Water
The temperature of the curative water is 25 – 56o C.
Characterisation: superheated HCO3– Na- Mg- K- As- CO2 hypotonic, slightly radioactive curative water.
Therapeutic Indications: Balneotherapy for arthritis, rheumatisms, skin ailments, gynecological ailments. Mineral water drinking therapy for ailments of the gastrointestinal system.
Health thermalism facilities: Hydrotherapy is realised in individual and group tubs.
