The beauty and uniqueness of Konitsa region bewitches every visitor. The rich flora and fauna, the impressive gorges, the magnificent mountain masses, the mountainous lakes, the rivers, the numerous religion monuments and the museums of the area, give the visitors the possibility to explore the area through a great number of choices. On the left shore of Sarantaporo one can find the sulphide curative baths of Kavasila. The therapeutic properties of the springs for the cure of fractures have been known since the middle byzantine era. The baths were burnt down in the war, by the German Occupation Army. They were rebuilt after the war, only to be burnt again by a forest fire in 1964. In the beginning of the 90s, the present hydrotherapy centre was built. The old baths, that were located on the opposite shore of Sarantaporo, at the place that belongs to Pixaria village, were ruined during the 2nd World War. There, visitors can enjoy a hot bath in the river.

The natural temperature of the water is 30oC

Therapeutic Indications: Rheumatisms, arthritis, post trauma ailments, rickets, neuralgia, skin ailments, gynecological ailments
Health thermalism facilities
The baths have one large outdoor pool and two indoor ones, one for men and one for women. The moderate temperature of the outdoor pool is 30oC and if the indoor pools 32oC. The hydrotherapy centre is open the whole week from June to October.
