The complex of the baths is located 1 km away from Mandraki. Mandraki is the capital and the port of the island, a labyrinth of narrow streets, roads paved with pebbles, an amphitheatrically built village surrounded by the Medieval Fortress and Panagia Spiliani.
The bath facilities on the island show a rich history in the field of hydrotherapy. Furthermore, there are many gushes of water and the volcano attracts a great number of tourists. The hydrothermal crate “Stefanos” is a living volcanic laboratory, one of the few in the world.
Curative Water
The temperature of the water is 48oC
Characterisation: Superheated Cl- Na- K- Br- B hypertonic, slightly radioactive curative water of the municipality of Nisyros.
Therapeutic Indications: Rheumatisms, arthritis, gynecological ailments, ailments of the circulatory system.
Health thermalism facilities
The hydrotherapy centre has 11 individual tubs and a group tub. It is open from June to October, seven days a week and between the hours 07:00 – 11:00 am and 17:00 – 19:30 pm. Guests can be accommodated in the hotel that operates in the area.
